Jon, I did not know there was a term for this fear. I once injured my back due to wrong technique while doing a dead lift. Of course I was still learning and it was taking a while to get a hang of the technique. It has taken me a whole year to get past that fear. Well at least most of it. These days, I concentrate on the technique while doing a deadlift. There is no fear then but it comes back later. But I have learnt to deal with it. Your blog makes me feel better to know that the feeling of fear that I have is normal and it can be overcome. Thanks for writing this!
